Daemon X Machina: Titanic's successor

The supercharged version of the new horizontal high-speed FEM TO TOBO may look similar to “Anthem”, but the game plays very differently.

wonderful

When to go back Daemon X Machina Released on Switch in 2019, it wears Armor core The impact of the sleeves, but this new sequel is another game altogether.

Yes, Armor core As far as the customization of the backend is concerned, the impact remains, but most parts are cleared rather than purchased. You won’t pay for ammunition, either.

In terms of how players upgrade (called Fusion) and how certain parts and weapons are developed, there are also obvious backpacks in the first game. In short, if you played the first one Daemon X Machinathis new iteration will feel familiar.

However, the structure and gameplay are different. Gone are the missions that have fixed areas, instead you have a lot of open world settings where you fly to the mission area and usually explore a huge, huge FEMTO world that suffers from.

The “fly” part is the new high-speed femto fulleled Boost, which looks like the same National anthem Flight settings, but that’s the end of the similarities.

This is because the gameplay now has enemy toggle track locks and also runs at a fast speed. This makes it more like an action game Armor core Respect is the first game.

If anything, the game is like the old one Another century of plot FromSoftware’s game. Switched track locks are a big similarity, as are local endurance improvements.

You can also repair and use damaged or defensive boost items, while the overall progress feels more like an action role-playing game.

Grausam is one of the giant enemies roaming a lot of landscapes.

wonderful

The new open world setting is designed to scan and clear items, as well as to remove all kinds of immortal things (creatures mutated due to femto). From the first game roaming the landscape, you also have some Colossus-shaped enemies, which can be a real challenge.

This put me in the smaller arsenal of weapons now, because in the first game these weapons were initially weaker than their brethren. There are some situations at the beginning of the game, but once you start finding more powerful parts and weapons, you can enjoy a lot of punishment as before.

That’s another thing, it takes a while for the game to reveal its innate kindness. The onboard is actually zero, so you need to be patient and stumble upon many complex, layered aspects of game design. But if you stick with it, the game will definitely reward you.

I played on the Switch 2 version for about 70+ hours and finished the game, and finished the post-game content, and everything was very stable. The load time is certainly long, but the game is handled well, especially on the Switch 2 Pro Pad. It’s also fun to play on the go, simply because you have such a huge world of exploration.

I will talk more about the online side in my comments, but here is a major caveat: I live in Tokyo, where the broadband speed is epic. Also, I rarely see international players due to my time zone.

However, since the game uses Unreal Engine, I hope that the online elements will become very solid once released in slower areas of the internet.

Also, feel free to check out my interview with game producer Kenichiro Tsukuda.

Daemon X Machina: Titanic’s successor Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC will be released on September 5.
