By 2024, the country will account for 10% of the Asia-Pacific blood glucose monitoring market.

The blood glucose monitoring market in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 2% between 2024 and 2033 due to the rising incidence of diabetes and limited access to reliable blood glucose monitoring tools.

According to GlobalData, India’s blood glucose monitoring market will account for approximately 10% of the Asia-Pacific market by 2024, reflecting India’s increasing focus on affordable and innovative solutions tailored to local needs.

Kanchan Chauhan, Medical Device Analyst at GlobalData, said: “While blood glucose monitoring solutions are becoming increasingly popular in India, there are still huge gaps in affordability, user education and accessibility, especially in rural areas.”

The expert said locally made devices could help close the gap, but broader efforts on education and support systems were also important for effective diabetes management.

“Strengthening healthcare infrastructure and raising awareness at the community level will be key to transforming diabetes management nationwide and improving long-term health outcomes,” Chouhan said.
