The statement was held tonight at a meeting held at Jamuna State Dean Jamuna.

According to them, the chief adviser mentioned three key issues through the “basic reform”: the establishment of a proportionally represented House of Lords, outlining the structure of important constitutional and statutory bodies in the Constitution, and ensuring women’s representation in parliament through direct elections.

He stressed that these core reforms are not negotiable and must be resolved.

Yunus also expressed satisfaction with the progress of the ongoing political dialogue of the National Reform Commission.

He hopes that at the current rate, a national charter can be drafted in the prescribed timetable.

At the meeting, the committee’s Vice-Chairman Professor Ali Riaz presented a detailed report on the dialogue process.

He outlines the challenges and points of discussions that stagnate. In response, the CA made several recommendations to help overcome obstacles.

Committee members also informed the Chief Advisor that the political party had entrusted the Committee to make a final decision on the establishment of the Double Transaction Committee.

As a result, the Commission is expected to make a decisive decision on the matter soon.

Yunus directed the committee to keep the process of drafting the July charter transparent and public access, a press release from the CA’s News Wing said.

The Chief Adviser briefed the progress of the Consensus Committee and told him that every effort was being made to complete the July Charter in the shortest time.

Yunus expressed his gratitude to the members of the committee for their commitment and dedicated efforts.

He said the initiative received widespread praise.

“It was a historic moment,” he said, adding that “the desires born through a massive uprising were reflected by this initiative. Therefore, the whole process must be transparent and accessible to the people.”

Ali Riaz told the chief adviser that a consensus on eight agenda points had been reached in the second round of political dialogue. Discussions are underway, and agreements are reached on seven other issues.

“We briefed him accordingly and he was satisfied with the progress,” Riaz added.

He also said that the committee had put forward various arguments that political parties had made on unresolved issues.
