The measures will be based on five strategic themes, including continuity of care.
The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) launched the Intercontinental Alliance for Integrated Care (IAIC), which unites healthcare providers, social service agencies, academics and policymakers around the world.
IAIC is committed to advancing holistic, patient-centered solutions to meet the needs of the world’s aging population and the challenges posed by chronic disease.
IAIC’s measures will be anchored in five strategic themes: Continuity of Care, Healthy Aging, Digital Inclusion and Innovation, Training and Capacity Building, Governance and Economics.
IAIC was established at a grand dinner attended by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat and more than 200 guests, including 13 founding members from overseas universities in Asia, North America and Europe.
Each national member will also form a local chapter to implement feasible projects. In Singapore, SUSS signed a memorandum of understanding with St. Luke’s ElderCare, TOUCH Community Services and Tsao Foundation to establish local chapters.
As Singapore approaches “super-ageing” status by 2026, the Tsao Foundation will focus on projects targeting aged care and supporting mature workers, while St Luke’s Aged Care and TOUCH Community Services will focus on wider social care and community Healthy work.
