The suite will include rooms for scanning, control and anesthesia preparation.
The government has partnered with ADCO Constructions through an early contractor involvement (ECI) procurement process to develop a US$9.3 million (A$15 million) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite at the Hedland Health Campus.
This ECI will enable contractors to work with project teams during the design phase to achieve a more efficient construction process.
The suite will be a stand-alone facility adjacent to existing diagnostic services provided by the medical imaging department at Hedland Health Campus.
It is expected to accommodate specialized equipment including MRI scanning rooms, control rooms, anesthesia preparation rooms, plant and equipment space and support facilities.
The facility will also feature a reception and secondary waiting area, as well as locker rooms and amenities.
